Location The Fairy Glen can be found just south of Uig along the 80km Trotternish loop in Skye's far north east. From Portree, take the A87 road towards Dunvegan. After approximately 9 miles, continue on the A87 towards Uig.

The Fairy Glen is located in the Trotternish, the northernmost peninsula of Skye. It should only take you around 25 minutes to drive the 16 miles from Portree to the Fairy Glen. You take the A87 all the way from Portree to Uig for the fastest route.

This otherworldly scene of conical hills, rocky outcrops and trickling falls make this place seem like something that has fallen straight out of a Tolkien novel.

Fairy Glen is in the Trotternish Peninsula - the big northern 'finger' of the Isle of Skye. As such, the Fairy Glen is close to lots of Skye's most famous attractions. They include Portree, The Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing (which is like a bigger version of the Fairy Glen), and those Fairy Pools I mentioned earlier.
